Pottery Classes - Throwing on the Pottery Wheel

Posted April 2022

We understand the want and need to get back to normal but we are taking a very cautious approach to the resumption of classes. The size of our classroom does not allow for the recommended 2 meters required for physical distancing between students. If Covid-19 fizzles out or continues to be on the decline come late summer, we will look at resuming classes in the fall of 2022.

Stay tuned for future updates.

Introduction to Throwing on the Potter's Wheel

This class is an introduction to the potter's wheel, focusing on wedging, shaping, trimming, and simple glazing techniques. Students may take this class more than once before they are comfortable moving on to the next level. We have designed this introductory class to give you the basic skills and knowledge to throw basic forms.

No prior experience is required. Demonstrations, group discussions, and one-to-one attention will be given to each student. Each student has their own pottery wheel with eleven students per class.
