Textured Amber is a semi-matte brown glaze that has a varied, translucent surface with a textured float of opaque tan speckles. Try layering this glaze with our other Potter's Choice glazes!

Due to the powdered nature of the materials involved with the dry-mix dipping buckets of this product, their respective health information and labels differ from the brushing glazes.

Layering Top Coat

Here are some examples of PC-61 Textured Amber over some other Potter's Choice Glazes (2/2 coats fired to cone 6 on AMACO's #46 Buff Stoneware)



Layering Base Coat

There are many Potter's Choice glaze colors providing a huge number of possible glaze layering combinations. Experiment with combinations of glazes, different numbers of coats of each glaze, (up to a total of three to four coats) and ways to layer the glazes on your clay pieces. The samples shown below are 2 coats over 2 coats fired to Cone 6 on AMACO's #46 Buff Stoneware. Click each image to enlarge.

Layering with Celadons

The Potter's Choice glazes produce unique and beautiful effects when layered with the celadon glazes and fired to cone 5/6. Be sure to use three coats of each glaze and let each coat dry completely between applications. These tiles have been fired to cone 6 on AMACO's #11 A-mix
